Our beautiful daughter is smart, determined, and on a collision course with danger. She watches and then continues trying until she figures out how to do something. Here, she is disabling the child safety lock to the cupboard with the garbage and cleaning supplies (which have now been moved to a shelf six feet high). She's also recently been caught carrying around a knife, standing on the kitchen table after moving the counter height chairs back and pulling herself onto them to get up there, and purposely laying on her back under the bath water where she can't get back up. And she's very close to running. We're afraid to even leave her in another room.

"SURE, WE'LL MOVE TO GERMANY. WHY NOT?"
While the decision remains the same, the actual experience of relocating to a foreign country is far more difficult and complex than that answer, made quickly and long ago. We imagined, but are only now beginning to know, the obstacles moving overseas brings (language, culture, assets/finances, and relationships to name a few). We've already seen confirmation that we are on a path of God's choosing and look forward to the challenges, adventures and blessings that await when we follow His lead. This is our ongoing story - from now until 2010!

Yikes! Are there no other types of safety locks available there? We have spring loaded ones that take more strength to open. Shall I send you some?
Mary sounds like Bethany, who after she learned to walk, immediately started climbing. She would push the chairs over to the counter and climb up because she knew where I kept the C-A-N-D-Y! For the first time I considered putting locks on my TOP cupboards!
